Indore, August 19: A shocking incident of rape has come to light from Madhya Pradesh's Indore, where the police arrested a man on Sunday, August 18, for allegedly raping a divorced woman on the promise of marriage. Police officials also said that the accused raped the woman claiming he was single. The incident came to light when the woman lodged a complaint against the accused, Mohammad Aqeel, a resident of Noida.
According to a TOI report, the accused befriended the woman befriended the woman by pretending to be single. Later, he came to Indore and raped her. Police officials also said that the accused took the victim to Delhi a week ago on the pretext of marrying her. However, when in Delhi, the accused told the woman he could not marry her as he was married and had four children. In her complaint, the woman told cops that she was a divorcee with a 12-year-old son. The complainant also said she became friends with Mohammad Aqeel two years ago on social media. The accused told the woman to come to Delhi to get married to him. On August 13, the duo arrived in Delhi, where the accused continued to have relations with her. Later, he told the complainant that he was already married. The accused also told the woman that his wife lives in Uttar Pradesh and that he has four children. Following this, she informed a few right-wing activists about the incident, who caught Aqeel and handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, the police have booked Aqeek and have begun investigating the case.
