New Delhi, November 19: People of the nation remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary on November 19. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders took to micro-blogging site Twitter on Tuesday to pay tributes to the former Prime Minister. According to a tweet by ANI, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Former President Pranab Mukherjee paid floral tribute to Former Prime Minister on the 102 birth anniversary at Shakti Sthal in Delhi.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said, "Tributes to our former PM Smt. Indira Gandhi Ji on her birth anniversary".

The Congress also remembered the great reader and termed her as the Iron Lady. "What quality would the women of today want to emulate from India's first female Prime Minister, the Iron Lady, Smt. Indira Gandhi", the Congress tweeted.

The Congress also shared a video on her birth anniversary and paid homage to India's first female Prime Minister, the Late Smt Indira Gandhi. "Her will & determination led our country to great heights. Her contributions to India's national security, economy & foreign policy will always be cherished", the tweet said.

Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917. She is the daughter of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Gandhi, often termed as the Iron lady, had became the second longest serving Prime Minister as she had a total of three terms as the Prime Minister of India.
