IndiGo Flight 6E 6679 From Delhi to Hyderabad Expedites Landing After Smoke Detected in Cockpit

The IndiGo flight had to make an emergency landing as the pilots deemed the smoke emanating from the cockpit dangerous. Upon inspection, any major techincal glitch was ruled out. The malfuntioning part of the aircraft will be replaced and the flight will soon reach its destination.

New Delhi, August 27: A Hyderabad bound Indigo flight, which took off from Delhi, had to have an emergency landing after the pilots perceived signs of smoke in the cockpit during descent. The pilots did so as a measure of caution, reported news agency ANI. The landing had to be expediated as the pilots sensed danger. The flight number is IndiGo 6E 6679.

After landing, the inspection was carried out by the engineering team. The team confirmed that the engine functionalities and parameters were alright.

The cause of the smoke emanating in the cockpit has been identified as the malfunctioning of air conditioning system’s exhaust fan, reported news agency ANI. The component which malfunctioned has been replaced and the aircraft will be back in operation shortly, said reports.
