Chandigarh, March 1: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday arrested an alleged spy working for Pakistan in India. According to reports, the man arrested by the BSF in Ferozepur near the India-Pakistan border is an Indian. Reports say that the BSF has seized a mobile phone with Pakistani SIM card, in use, from his possession. Masood Azhar is Very Unwell, in Pakistan: Pak Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
As per ANI reports, the SIM card mobile number is added to eight Pakistani groups. Six other Pakistani phone numbers, reportedly of wanted terrorists, have also retrieved from him. Reports say that the accused spy is from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The arrest of the alleged spy comes amid tensions between India and Pakistan followed by the February 14 Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred. Terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed had taken responsibility for the attack, following which, on February 26, the Indian Air Force carried out a strike on JeM terror camp in Balakot of Pakistan.
Following this, on February 27, Pakistan Air Force F-16 jets tried to violate Indian Airspace and also tried to attack Indian Army establishments but failed to do so as they were countered by the IAF. In this combat operation India's MiG-21 Bison shot down one of Pakistan's F-16 jets. The MiG-21 was lost in the operation and the pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who had landed on the other side of the border, was taken into custody by Pakistani Army. Wing Commander Abhinandan will be released by Pakistan today.
