Bhubaneswar, July 7: An Indian Coast Guard ship on Sunday saved the lives of eight fishermen who were stranded at sea since June 21 on board a distressed Fishing Vessel off Odisha coast. The Indian Coast Guard tweeted, “In yet another #Sea #Air coordinated #SAR amidst inclement weather & rough sea conditions @IndiaCoastGuard ship saved precious lives of 08 fishermen stranded at sea since 21st June onboard a distressed #FishingVessel off #Odisha coast. Similarly in April this year, the Coast Guard rescued eight fishermen off Porbandar coast in Gujarat following a distress call from them after their trawler was flooded. Coast Guard Ship C-445 reached the flooded boat in two hours and started rescue operations. The eight were saved and taken on board ICG C-445 safely and brought to Porbandar harbour.
