Doda, March 9: Over 2000 Kashmiri youths on Saturday took part in an Army recruitment drive in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The recruitment rally is being done for the vacancy in the second line of defence i.e Territorial Army. Visual from the sports stadium in Doda was shared by news agency ANI, which also shared images of aspirants. Mubassir Ali, one of the aspirants, said, "I am here to join the Indian Army to serve the country and my family. Wing Commander Abhinandan was captured by Pakistan army but then he came back to India. This has given hope to youth and inspired them to join the Indian Army." Meanwhile, on Friday, Indian Army Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon appealed to Kashmiri mothers to ensure their sons don't join terrorism and militancy. He also assured mothers of those who had joined the wrong way but want to return, that army will help them to return to the mainstream.
"I appeal to all the Kashmiri mothers, please stop your children from going on the path of terrorism and militancy; bring those who have gone astray to the mainstream. I assure you of their safety and security," Dhillion said.
