In another heart-winning gesture, Indian Army personnel of Chinar Corps evacuated a 75-year-old man to a nearby hospital in Kupwara district after walking for 2 km in snow. Ghulam Nabi Ghani on Kupwara’s Lalpora area got critical during heavy snowfall on January 14.

Kupwara, January 17: In another heart-winning gesture, Indian Army personnel of Chinar Corps evacuated a 75-year-old man to a nearby hospital in Kupwara district after walking for 2 km in snow. Ghulam Nabi Ghani on Kupwara’s Lalpora area got critical during heavy snowfall on January 14. The video of the Army personnel carrying Ghani to the hospital is being shared by the Indian Army on China Corps' official Twitter handle. In the video, locals can also be walking along with the Army patrol. In its post, the Indian Army also wished a speedy recovery of Ghani.

It is the second incident in a week, when Indian Army personnel from Chinar Corps division displayed an act of utmost humanity. On January 14, over 100 soldiers of the Indian Army from Chinar Corps division carried a pregnant woman on a stretcher through the snow in the Kashmir Valley. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also lauded the Indian Army’s efforts to help civilians in the Kashmir Valley in the time of distress.

Earlier in the day, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel evacuated a local woman in labour pain to the nearest hospital during heavy snowfall in Baramulla district of the Jammu and Kashmir. Normal life remained affected due to heavy snowfall in the Kashmir Valley this season. Till now, three army personnel and five civilians lost their lives in separate incidents of Avalanche in the area.
