Indian Army Major Accused Of Raping Domestic Help; Case Registered In Delhi Cantonment Police Station

New Delhi, September 30: In a shocking incident, a serving Indian Army major has been accused of rape by her domestic help. The Delhi police have registered a case against the major. The domestic help also alleged that the officer threatened her and her husband, who committed suicide. The major allegedly raped woman on July 12, when her husband was away, reported The Indian Express. The complainant said that once her husband came to know, the accused beat them up and threatened them.

She also alleged that the officer raped her on other occasions too, due to which she went to her in-laws. According to the report, later that month the major called and informed the maid that her husband had committed suicide by hanging himself. The police have registered the case under IPC sections 376 (rape), 354 (molestation), 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (threatening) against the army officer at Delhi Cantonment police station. The police have summoned the accused and told him to participate in the investigation.

Another case surfaced earlier this month, in which An Army major has been charged for allegedly subjecting his wife to domestic abuse and demanding dowry. A case has been registered at the Palam village police station. According to a report of news agency PTI, The complainant alleged that on August 19, 2017, the officer asked her to get at least Rs. 25 lakh from her parents, failing which he would leave her.
