Poonch, September 19: The Indian Army destroyed nine live mortar shells in Mendhar sub-division of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Wednesday. Live mortar shells were found in Sandote, Basoni and Balakote village of Balakote sector of the district. The video of the Indian Army team destroying the explosives was shared by news agency ANI. It is the second incident in a week, when live mortar shells were destroyed by the Indian Army in the border areas of Poonch district. Live shells were found days after Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC). Last week, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that Pakistan violated ceasefire 2050 times this year in which 21 Indians died. The MEA also stated that India had called upon Pakistan several times asking them to adhere to 2003 ceasefire understanding.
