Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat Reiterates PoK and Gilgit Baltistan Belong to India, Says 'Illegally Occupied Region Controlled by Pakistani Terrorists'
New Delhi, October 25: Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday reiterated that the PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) and Gilgit Baltistan are a part of India. He also said that the PoK and Gilgit Baltistan are an occupied territory by Pakistan. "When we say Jammu and Kashmir, the complete state of Jammu and Kashmir includes PoK and Gilgit Baltistan. Therefore PoK and Gilgit Baltistan become an occupied territory - a territory which has been illegally occupied by our western neighbour," he said.
He said that te Pok is not controlled by the Pakistani establishment and it is in hands of terrorists. "The territory which has been illegally occupied by Pakistan is not controlled by the Pakistani establishment, it is controlled by terrorists. PoK is actually a terrorist-controlled country or a terrorist-controlled part of Pakistan," he said. Taking about better arms and ammunition for the soldiers, Army Chief General said, "Let me assure that the best rifle available in the world, the Sig Sauer from America will be available to the infantry soldiers by the end of this year."
On Sunday, Indian Army destroyed three terror camps in PoK and killed six to 10 Pakistani soldiers in retaliation to Pakistan's attempt to infiltrate terrorists to India. According to reports, the terror launch pads in Neelam valley -- opposite the Kupwara's Tangdhar sector - were neutralised in the artillery strikes.
