Bhubaneswar, August 4: India on Sunday successfully test-fired a Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) from a test range in Odisha. The missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has a strike range of 25 km to 30 km. The missile was test-fired from launch pad-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur at around 11.05 am. QRSAM uses solid-fuel propellant. It is all-weather and all-terrain missile which can be mounted on a truck and stored in a canister, sources said. According to reports, is equipped with electronic counter measures against jamming by aircraft radars. The first trial of the QSRAM was conducted on June 4, 2017. In February this year also, India successfully test-fired short-range QRSAM off Odisha coast. It successfully demonstrated robust control, aerodynamics and manoeuvring capabilities. The missile is capable of killing aerial targets, tanks and bunkers.
