New Delhi, August 14: Over 30,000 suggestions have poured from across the nation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech, which will be delivered from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15th August 2018. The Prime Minister had invited suggestions on mygov.in, NaMo app and PMO website. Over the last few years, the Prime Minister has directly invited ideas and suggestions from citizens for Independence Day Speech. Similarly, this year too, the Prime Minister has invited citizens to contribute their views, ideas, suggestions and vision for New India.
The suggestions that have been received include job creation, education, digitisation, reservation, family planning, and healthcare among others. According to reports, the PMO received over 30,000 suggestions through modes of different media for his Independence Day speech.
Apart from the online suggestions, nearly 2,000 people from rural areas have written letters to PM Modi. “PM Narendra Modi will pick up some of the ideas in his speech on 15th August from the ramparts of the Red Fort”, the appeal for suggestions posted on mygov.in stated.
The Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech will be live streamed on Google and YouTube. Also, Prasar Bharati has tied up with the web search engine and the video-sharing website to telecast the I-Day programme live online. "As a part of our efforts to increase our digital presence, we also decided to tie up with Google and YouTube for live telecast of the I-Day programme, online," Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati told a leading newspaper.
