Income Tax Department Sends E-Calendar to Taxpayers Ahead of New Financial Year Highlighting Important Dates For Tax-Related Deadlines
The Income Tax Department released a New Year calendar highlighting the important dates of tax relevance. The calendar named “File it Yourself” has list of all the important tax-related deadlines. The department has calendar on mails to the taxpayers.
New Delhi, January 4: The Income Tax Department released a New Year calendar highlighting the important dates of tax relevance. The calendar named “File it Yourself” has list of all the important tax-related deadlines. The main aim of the department releasing such a calendar is to help taxpayers file their income tax returns easily. Income Tax Department Extends Deadline for Filing of Response to IT Notices Till January 10.
The department has also mailed the calendar to taxpayers. In the mail, it wrote, “Here is a calendar with important dates for you so that you don't have to miss a thing. We hope that this will make your filing journey easier.” The e-calendar informs taxpayers of the various services being offered by the department.

The calendar reminds taxpayers about the due dates for TCS and TDS deposits for January for the quarter ending December 31, 2019. Similarly, March 15 and March 31 are due dates for payment of the fourth and last instalment of advance tax for the year 2020-21 and last date for filing belated or revised return of income for the assessment year 2019-20 respectively.
In the calendar, it is mentioned that the last date to submit TCS statement for quarter 4 of Financial Year 2019-20 is May 15, whereas, May 31 is the deadline for quarterly statement of TDS deposited for the previous quarter. June 15 and July 31 are the last dates to pay the first instalment of advance tax for the assessment year 2021-22 and the last date for filing of income tax returns (ITR) for most individuals respectively. In the calendar, September 15 is mentioned as the last reminder for paying off the second instalment of advance tax, while September 30 is the last date for filing of ITR for corporate taxpayers. December 15 is marked as the last date for paying the third instalment of advance tax for the third quarter of the financial year 2020-21.
