IMD Issues Dust, Thunderstorm Warning in Rajasthan; Jodhpur, Alwar, Churu to be Affected

Jaipur, April 10: India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Jaipur has issued dust storm/thunderstorm warning in Rajasthan from April 10 to April 14. According to the department, Alwar, Kota, Bundi, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Alwar, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Churu, Bikaner, Jalore, Pali, Bharatpur, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, Sriganganagar and Nagaur are likely to witness dust and thunderstorms. The IMD has also issued a warning of thunderstorm and dust storm over Haryana and Chandigarh on April 10. Dust Storm, Thunderstorm Hits Delhi, NCR, Light Showers Brings Down Mercury.
Meanwhile, the heat wave will continue to prevail in Rajasthan in the next two-three days. On Tuesday, Barmer recorded the highest temperature in the state at 42.8 degrees Celsius. Jaisalmer sizzled at 42.7 degrees Celsius followed by Kota at 42 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department official said. The IMD also issued thunderstorm and dust storm warning over Haryana and Chandigarh.
Earlier this week, a video of a gigantic storm approaching a city went viral on social media. The incident was captured in Rajasthan’s Churu where dust storm swept through various regions on Sunday. In the video, people can be seen standing on their housetops capturing the incident on phones. Reportedly, the storm originated from a nearby desert causing damage to local farmers and properties.
