Shocked by the air strikes by IAF on Tuesday, Pakistan said it will give an “appropriate reply” to the Indian action, which it described as “grave aggression”. Soon after Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale made the official announcement about the air strike, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Prime Minister Imran Khan has called a meeting to discuss the issue. According to a report by ANI, Qureshi told state-owned Pakistan Television that it is a grave aggression by India. "We had told the world community that such a step could be taken by India", he added.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army on Tuesday alleged that the Indian IAF violated the Line of Control (LoC) in Muzafarabad sector. “Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage,” Major General Asif Ghafoor, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the army, said in a tweet.
