Kuala Lumpur, March 28: Indigenously built Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas of the Indian Air Force (IAF) showcased its skills in the ongoing  Langkawi International Maritime Aero Expo -2019 (LIMA-2019) in Malaysia. The video of the aircraft demonstrating its flying power was shared by the IAF on its Twitter handle on Wednesday evening. Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad and Defence Minister of Malaysia, Mohamad Sabu also interacted with team IAF. Aero India 2019: PV Sindhu Flies LCA Tejas at Bengaluru Air Show (See Pics).

It is for the first time that the IAF has participated in the LIMA with the LCA-Tejas aircraft. The exercise is being organised from 26 March 2019 to 30 March 2019. The IAF team was departed from Air Force Station Kalaikunda for Langkawi on March 22 to participate the Maritime Aero Expo. Aero India 2019: General Bipin Rawat Takes Sortie in HAL-Made Tejas, Calls It 'A Wonderful Aircraft'.

Meanwhile, the aircraft received its final operational clearance (FOC) during the Aero India 2019 which was held in Bengaluru last month. The FOC Certificate and Release to Service Document (RSD) were handed over to the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa on the opening day of Aero India 2019. FOC involves the addition of key capabilities to the Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) aircraft which are Beyond Visual Range Missile capabilities, Air-to-Air Refuelling. Air-To-Ground FOC earmarked weapons and general flight envelope expansion.
