Nanded, October 14: In a heartbreaking incident, a 17-year-old boy, Sahil Nandedkar, hanged himself to death in his bedroom following Dasara celebrations with his family in Maharashtra's Nanded. The only son of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Shilwant Nandedkar, who was diligently preparing for the IIT entrance exam, was found hanging from the ceiling fan after leaving a chilling message on the mirror that read, "I want to restart. I am not quitting." As investigations unfold, the circumstances surrounding his tragic decision remain unclear.
The incident came to light in the early hours of October 14, when Sahil's father, DCP Shilwant Nandedkar, went to wake his son for his morning routine. Noticing the door unusually locked from the inside and receiving no response to his calls, DCP Nandedkar peered through the window and was met with the sight of his son hanging from the ceiling fan. Upon arrival, the authorities broke down the door and brought Sahil's body down. He was rushed to a government medical college and hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities are focusing on understanding the pressures faced by the young student, who was preparing for both his HSC exams and the IIT entrance test.
