Hyderabad: Mother of Woman Stranded in Oman Seeks Help From Sushma Swaraj, Requests to Bring Daughter Back to India
The mother said that her daughter, who was lured into a lucrative job offer in Oman is being tortured there and is currently stranded in the Gulf nation.
Hyderabad, February 3: Mother of a Hyderabad resident has sought help from External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj to provide assistance to her daughter to return to India. The mother said her daughter, who was lured into a lucrative job offer in Oman, is being tortured and is currently stranded in the Gulf nation. According to a report by ANI, the woman said that an agent had approached her daughter and had offered a job in Oman for Rs 25000 per month. Sushma Swaraj to the Rescue, Again! Rasheeda Begum, the mother of the stranded woman, said, "An agent named Shaheeda, approached my daughter and offered a good job in Oman and said she will be paid a salary of Rs. 25,000 per month. Believing the agent, my daughter left for Oman on December 9”, the mother added. Rasheeda further informed that after her daughter landed in Oman, she was kept in an office and the Oman agent is continuously shifting my daughter from one place to another place. Describing her ordeal, the mother informed that when she got to know about her daughter's condition, she approached Shaheeda, the agent who sent her daughter to Oman. Rasheeda said the agent asked for Rs 2 lakh to bring her daughter back to India. “She (daughter) lives in horrible conditions in Oman. They make her work very hard. I request Sushma Swaraj to rescue my daughter and bring her back to India," Rasheeda added.
The mother also claimed that her daughter has not been paid her dues ever since she worked there. Rasheeda further informed that the agent also locked her daughter in a room at times, adding that she has not been provided adequate food either.
