Hyderabad, April 25: Mother of a Hyderabadi woman stranded in Qatar has sought help from External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to rescue her daughter and bring back to India. The woman identified as Tabassum Begum was quoted by ANI saying that her daughter, who is a nurse, was taken to the Gulf nation but was made to work as domestic help. Tabassum further informed that an agent had approached her and offered Rs 40000 to look after her ailing sister in Qatar and now, her daughter is being tortured badly. “They are demanding Rs 1.5 Lakh for her return. The mother said that she approached the agent to bring back Mariyum who demanded Rs 1.5 lakh in return.  "After I heard my daughter is struggling in Qatar we approached the local agent who sent my daughter there but she demanded 1.5 lakh to bring back Syeda. Where can we bring that much money? I request External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to rescue my daughter," she said. Sushma Swaraj to the Rescue, Again! The mother was quoted by ANI saying that her daughter Syeda Mariyum used to work as a nurse in a hospital in Hyderabad. “An agent named Fatima offered her a nurse job in Qatar for a salary of Rs 40,000 per month. The agent also said that my daughter will come back to Hyderabad from Qatar only in one month. So she agreed and left to Qatar on April 11," Begum said.

Reports inform that after landing in Qatar, Mariyum was first kept in an office and she was employed as a housemaid by her employer. Begum added saying that the employer told Mariyum that she should work there for five years as a housemaid and also didn’t providing adequate food. The mother alleged that they locked her daughter in a room, tortured her. “They say they'll throw away her passport&sell her off to brothel.Agent is demanding Rs 1.5 Lakh for her return.Request Sushma ji to help", the mother said.
