Hyderabad, December 3: As outrage grows across the nation over the horrific rape and murder of a 27-year-old veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, the victim's father spoke to media and sought speedy justice. "The culprits must be punished as soon as possible. Laws have been made, but they are not being implemented take Nirbhaya's case, the culprits must be hanged till death," the victim's father was reported as saying.

Candle light marches and demonstrations are being held in Telangana and several other parts of the nation, as people express their anguish against the ghastly crime committed against the woman.

Locals have called upon Prime Minister Narendra along with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to ensure that justice is served in the case at the earliest. The TRS government in Telangana has assured to leave no stone unturned to ensure "strictest punishment" against the culprits.

Online petitions on change.org demanding speedy justice for the victim have received over 15 lakh signatures in the last four days. "Within four days, over 500 petitions have been started by regular citizens in an attempt to register protest and anger and the biggest petition that has gathered the signatures of over 8 lakh people has been started by another veterinarian from Mumbai Dr Shantanu Kodape," said a statement issued by the platform.
