Hyderabad, December 18: The investigators probing the Hyderabad veterinary rape and murder case have claimed that two out of four suspects in the case were involved in at least nine other cases of rape and murder. All the four suspects in the rape-murder and burning of 27-year-old veterinary doctor from Hyderabad were shot dead in what the Police claims was an "encounter". The four accused were identified as Mohammed Areef, J Naveen, J Shiva and Ch Chennakeshavulu. The Police had said that the four suspects were being taken to the crime spot for further probe but they tried to escape and were killed in the encounter. The Supreme Court appointed a three-member commission to probe the encounter. The commission is led by retired judge VS Sirpurkar. Meanwhile, a team of Cyberabad Police is in Karnataka, probing the Hyderabad rape and murder case and trying to find evidence and links to other cases on Telangana-Karnataka border area.
Two of the accused, Areef and Chennakeshavulu, allegedly committed the crimes at Sangareddy, Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar in Telangana, reported The Times of India. The report also says that the duo confessed to sexually assaulting and killing nine other women in the past. One of the officials quoted in the report said that the suspects confessed to several cases of sexual abuse, including incidents of sexual assault against transgenders and prostitutes.
