Hyderabad, July 1: In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a 12-year-old girl hanged herself to death at her residence in Hyderabad's Kachiguda. The girl, a class 7 student, allegedly died by suicide after her father did not take her along to a relative's wedding, causing immense disappointment. The girl made the decision to end her life when she was alone at her home on Saturday, June 29. The girl's body was discovered by her mother after she returned from work that evening. Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to her death.

According to a report by the Times of India, the tragic sequence of events unfolded in Hyderabad's Kachiguda on Saturday, when the deceased, identified as Hatkari Rukitha, a class 7 student, expressed a desire to accompany her father, Ganesh, to a relative wedding. However, for unspecified reasons, Ganesh did not take her along as initially promised. Using a scarf, she tragically hung herself from an asbestos roof iron rod in her room. The girl's mother, who discovered her lifeless body, subsequently informed the Police officials from Kachiguda, who confirmed the incident and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to Rukitha's untimely death. Family members reported that Mahmood's alcohol-induced behaviour frequently led to arguments over trivial matters, causing Fathima to slip into depression. A case has been registered under sections 306 (Abetment of Suicide) and 498A (Cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code, highlighting yet another distressing instance of domestic turmoil leading to fatal consequences.
