Hyderabad, October 25: In a shocking incident, a domestic help was allegedly raped by a school chairman and was subjected to physical assault by his son in Banjara Hills. The accused was arrested on Tuesday after the complaint by the woman. The co-accused, the school chairman's son, is absconding, said police. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
According to a Times of India report, the incident occurred on July 16 when the accused had sexually assaulted the 22-year-old victim at his house in Banjara Hills. The report said that the victim approached police, alleging she was manhandled by the watchman on the allegations of SIM theft at the house a few days later. The arrest was made after she again reached the police station and told cops that she did not reveal the detailed version of the July incident, fearing the life threat by the accused to her and her mother. In her statement, the victim alleged that she was raped by the school chairman, and when she went to his son to inform him about the incident, he manhandled her using abusive language. In another incident in August, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three people after they barged into her house in Hyderabad's Nandanavanam colony. The minor victim lodged a police complaint stating that the accused, who was allegedly intoxicated, forcefully entered the victim’s residence at around 9:30 am and threatened her and her brother at knifepoint.
