Hyderabad, October 10: In a disturbing incident in Taranagar, Hyderabad, a 36-year-old centring contractor bled to death after unidentified assailants brutally slashed his private parts. The victim, Tanniru Maladri, was found lying in a pool of blood, clad only in a lungi, in his rented home. At the time of the crime, he was alone, and the horrific attack was discovered when his sister grew concerned after he failed to respond to her calls. Neighbours, alerted by her distress, helped her break down the door, only to find Maladri severely injured.
The case came to light on October 8 when Maladri's sister, Aruna, decided to check on him after he did not answer her calls. According to a report by the Times of India, Aruna initially thought he might be sleeping but became increasingly concerned when his family also failed to reach him. After growing suspicious, she sought help from neighbours, leading them to break down the door of his rented room, where they discovered the gruesome scene. Upon entering, they found Maladri lying in a pool of blood, indicating that he had suffered a violent attack. Following the initial investigation, the Chandanagar police began to piece together the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder. As reported by the Deccan Chronicle, investigators suspect that the attack stemmed from a possible altercation that occurred while the victim was consuming alcohol with the assailants. The crime scene contained empty liquor bottles and plastic glasses, indicating that the attack may have been fueled by a tiff related to excessive drinking. Police also believe that sexual jealousy could be a motive behind the brutal assault. As the investigation unfolds, police have registered a murder case based on the complaint filed by Maladri's relatives. As per reports, special teams have been formed to review CCTV footage from the area to identify potential suspects. The body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem, and authorities are pursuing all leads to ensure that justice is served in this tragic case.
