Hyderabad, October 7: After heavy rains lashed Hyderabad on Sunday, water entered Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital in Jeedimetla area of the city. One to two-feet waterlogging reported in the emergency ward in the basement. Due to this, patients faced inconvenience. Hospital staff pumped the water out. On Sunday afternoon, several parts of the city witnessed heavy rainfall. Torrential rains lashed the city for about two-three hours inundating low-lying areas. Vehicular movement was affected by the rains. Some parts of the city also received the highest rainfall of nearly 10 cm. The city during the last two weeks experienced many spells of heavy rains, breaking new records. The city recorded more than 100 percent excess rainfall during September. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rains in Telangana over the next three days. The city may also witness thunderstorm and lightning may on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In a similar incident last month, rainwater entered Nalanda Medical College in Patna after the city was lashed by a heavy downpour. The video of the waterlogging ward went viral on social media.
