In a shocking turn of events, a family of five allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticide due to overwhelming debt in Saroornagar. A 60-year-old man, identified as Vuluchala Venkateshwara Prasad, and his family were reportedly struggling with their financial situation, which pushed them to take such drastic measures. The family attempted suicide late on September 30, consuming the toxic substance in their home. Despite their neighbour's intervention, their youngest son, an engineering graduate, succumbed to poisoning at the hospital.

The incident came to light late on Monday night, September 30, when Prasad managed to alert a neighbour about the situation after the family consumed the pesticide. According to a report by the Times of India, the family had been under immense financial pressure, with debts reportedly amounting to INR 30 lakh from various lenders. In a desperate bid to escape their circumstances, the family made the tragic decision to end their lives. Authorities had to force their way into the house to find the family in critical condition. They were quickly transported to Osmania Hospital for urgent medical care.
