Hyderabad: Man Attempts Suicide by Driving Car With 3 Children Into Imamguda Lake, Alert Locals Rescue All

A man in Hyderabad attempted suicide by driving his car into Imamguda Lake with his three children on July 10. As the vehicle submerged and the children cried for help, locals used tubes and ropes to rescue them safely.

Hyderabad, July 12: In a suspected case of suicide, a 40-year-old man allegedly drove his car with his three children inside, into the Imamguda Lake in Abdullapurmet, Hyderabad, on Wednesday, July 10. When the car submerged and the children cried for help, alert locals rescued all of them using tubes and ropes and safely brought them to the shore.  

According to a report by The New Indian Express, the man identified as G Ashok is facing financial issues. He works in real estate and is facing a downfall in his business, which led him to take this extreme step. After a minor fight with his wife, he left home with his children, informing them he was going for a walk at the lake. After reaching the spot, he drove his car straight into the lake. His kids then started screaming for help. Meanwhile, Ashok's wife had contacted the police to file a missing person report after seeing her husband's WhatsApp status indicating his intention to end his life due to a fight between them. After the incident, the Meerpet police counselled Ashok and later released him. He thanked the locals for saving his and his kids' lives.
