Hyderabad, November 5: An iron gate fell on a six-year-old boy at Hayathnagar Zilla Parishad School, resulting in his tragic death and prompting a protest by his family on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Tuesday, November 5. In response to the incident, the boy's parents and other relatives staged a sit-in outside the school, demanding justice for their loss. Hayathnagar corporator Jeevan Reddy and leaders of the Students Federation of India (SFI) also joined the protest, amplifying calls for accountability and support for the grieving family.
According to a report by NDTV, Ajay was a first-grade student at the school. The incident took place around 4 p.m. while Ajay was playing close to the gate. Protesters demanded accountability from the school principal for the death of six-year-old Ajay. They called for a compensation of INR 20 lakh for his family. Rangareddy District Education Officer Sushinder Rao arrived at the school to hold discussions with the demonstrators regarding their demands. Hayatnagar Circle Inspector P. Nagaraju reported that the incident occurred when some children climbed the gate and swung it back and forth, causing it to fall on Ajay due to weak welding joints. He sustained severe head injuries and was initially taken to a private hospital, but as his condition worsened, he was transferred to a government area hospital in Vanasthalipuram, where he was pronounced dead.
