New Delhi, July 16: The Delhi Police on Monday has arrested the husband of an air hostess who allegedly committed suicide in south Delhi’s Panchsheel Park by jumping from the terrace her house on Friday. Anissia Batra, the 39-year-old worked with German airline Lufthansa. Her husband Mayank Singhvi rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. He was absconding after her death.
According to reports, the family of the deceased air hostess has alleged that she was harassed for dowry and was regularly beaten by her in-laws. The family also claimed that it was a murder and not a suicide. Before allegedly jumping off from the terrace, the victim had messaged her husband threatening that she would kill herself.
Her husband told police that they had regular fights as there were “compatibility issues”. Singhvi also confessed that they had an argument on Friday after which Anissia jumped from the terrace. Police have registered a case, and they are questioning the husband, and the family members.
