Mumbai, April 29: Ahead of the voting for phase 4 of the Lok Sabha elections, every booth will have special arrangements for Divyangjan in Maharashtra. Seventeen Lok Sabha constituencies are going to polls on April 29 in the state including six parliamentary seats of Mumbai. Meanwhile, a total of 72 seats, spread across 9 states, are set to go polls on Monday. For smooth conduct of the polls, a total of 1,40,849 polling booths have been earmarked by the Election Commission.

How Divangjan can get enrolled as voters?

An eligible person with a disability or reduced mobility / physical functions can get enrolled in electoral roll by filling Form 6 inclusive of information about one’s disability online at www.nvsp.in and uploading the necessary documents. As per Election Commission, One can also enrol at voter enrolment centres or the offices of Electoral Registration Officers / Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, which will be accessible for persons with disabilities and reduced mobility / physical functions, by filing Form 6 in two copies which are available free of cost at such centres / offices and annexing copies of the relevant documents. How to Check Your Name In Voter List? Ahead of the phase 4 elections, search giant Google marked the beginning of elections of phase 4 polls in India with a doodle that shows the inked finger. Clicking on the inked finger leads users to a page that explains and answers 'how to vote in #India'. The page also contains information which can be of great helpful for first-time voters in the country.

Campaigning for phase 4 of the Lok Sabha elections ended on Saturday at 5 pm, as the Model Code of Conduct bars any form of campaigning during the 48 hour period preceding the end of the voting period. Earlier this month, the Election Commission launched a new mobile application, named 'PwD', aimed at providing doorstep assistance to Divyangjan or specially-abled voters doorstep assistance. The app is designed to ensure high turnout among the specially-challenged section of the electorate, while minimising the inconveniences faced by them.

The voting for the Lok Sabha elections is taking place in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The counting of votes will take on May 23.
