"Committee has submitted its report to Ministry, it's not the policy. Public feedback will be sought, it's a misunderstanding that it has become a policy. Earlier today, former HRD minister Prakash Javadekar also said that only a report has been prepared on the NEP. He said that only after public feedback, the report will be submitted before the government. "There is no case of or intention of imposing any language on anybody. We want to promote all Indian languages," Javadekar said.

This comes after a controversy broke out in Tamil Nadu over the draft NEP recommendation favouring a three language system in schools. The political parties in the state have warned about the protests if the draft new education policy is imposed.
