Shimla, May 25: In a shocker from Himachal Pradesh, a person was admitted at the government hospital in Mandi district after having reportedly swallowed sharp-edged plastic and metallic objects. The incident was reported from Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College in Mandi. When the patient was admitted, the sharp-edge objects, including knife, were seen "projecting from his stomach", said doctors privy to his surgery.

"After investigation, it was found that some metallic objects were inside his stomach. Our team of surgeon immediately operated him. He is stable now," Dr Nikhil was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The doctor further said that the patient is mentally ill and ended up swallowing the sharp objects himself. "This is a rare case," he said, adding that the person is currently being treated.
