Himachal Pradesh May Witness Heavy Snowfall on February 6-7, Warns IMD; Temperature Likely to Dip in Delhi-NCR

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a warning of heavy to very heavy snowfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh in the coming days.

Shimla, February 5: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a warning of heavy to very heavy snowfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh in the coming days. According to IMD, various districts of the state including Kullu, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Shimla, Kangra and Kinnaur will witness heavy snowfall on February 6, while these districts can witness very heavy snowfall on February 7. Pictures of Frozen Dal Lake in Srinagar and Snowfall in Manali Makes Us Want to Rush to the Hills This Holiday Season!.

The IMD also issued a warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places over mid and lower parts of the state on February 6 and 7. The warning of the IMD comes after Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment of Manali predicted avalanche in the above-mentioned districts of the state. Meanwhile, The IMD has also predicted heavy snowfall and rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days this week. Due to snowfall in these three states temperature is going to dip in Delhi-NCR. The national capital is likely to witness rain and thunder, and hailstorm at isolated places from February 5.
