Solan, July 14: At least two people lost their lives after a three-storey building of a hotel collapsed in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on Sunday afternoon. Eighteen Indian Army personnel and five civilians were rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team. According to reports, 14 people are still trapped under the debris of the collapsed building. Rescue operations are still underway. Earlier in the day, the three-storey building collapsed due to heavy rains. Army personnel reportedly stopped at the hotel to have lunch. The incident took place near Kumarhatti-Nahan highway in Solan at around 4 pm. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh from Sunday to Tuesday. The weather department also issued a yellow warning in the state.
