Chamba, April 27: In a tragic incident, twelve people died and many others were injured after a bus fell into a deep gorge near the Panchpula bridge in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district. The accident took place at Banikhet in Dalhousie sub-division. The bus was on the Dalhousie-Pathankot route, reported news agency ANI. Chamba Superintendent of Police (SP) Monica Bhutunguru said that a rescue team led by Dalhousie Deputy Superintendent of Police reached the accident site. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has directed the district administration to ensure immediate relief operations and provide all possible help to the victims of the accident. He has also directed the administration to provide immediate medical treatment to the injured.

Earlier this month, in a similar incident, One people died, and 44 others were injured after a private bus met with an accident at Kullu district’s Shalang area in the state. The bus carrying 53 passengers was on its way to Kullu from Kyelang and suddenly rolled down a gorge near the Kullu-Lag area.
