Just two days after the ruckus on the GoAir flight, a passenger was offloaded from an IndiGo flight 6E-395 from Mumbai to Kolkata after he tried to open the flight's cockpit to charge his phone on September 25. He was later handed over to Mumbai police. The flight was scheduled to depart at 5:55 pm but left at 6:10 pm. The incident took place on Indigo's A320 aircraft.
After the 9/11 attacks on twin towers, cockpit doors were strengthened to prevent the similar type of incident. Only pilots and cabin crew members have access to a cockpit. As per the guidelines issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, passengers posing a serious threat to security should be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
