Jodhpur, October 1: In a major incident of a security breach, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has detained four passengers at Jodhpur airport after they approached the cockpit. The incident took place in Delhi-Jodhpur flight. The accused also used objectionable language. An investigation is being carried out in the matter.

In a similar incident, one of the commuters attempted to open the airplane's rear door on September 23 in Delhi-Patna GoAir flight numbered G8 149. A major tragedy was averted as the onboard security personnel overpowered him and kept him under watch till the aircraft landed at Patna airport. The passenger, identified as a resident of Rajasthan's Ajmer in his mid-20s, was handed over to the CISF. In the interrogation, he revealed that he was a first-time flyer. The police verified the passenger's claim and found that he had boarded a plane for the first time in his life.

Just two days after the ruckus on the GoAir flight, a passenger was offloaded from an IndiGo flight 6E-395 from Mumbai to Kolkata after he tried to open the flight's cockpit to charge his phone on September 25. He was later handed over to Mumbai police. The flight was scheduled to depart at 5:55 pm but left at 6:10 pm. The incident took place on Indigo's A320 aircraft.

After the 9/11 attacks on twin towers, cockpit doors were strengthened to prevent the similar type of incident. Only pilots and cabin crew members have access to a cockpit. As per the guidelines issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, passengers posing a serious threat to security should be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
