Mumbai, September 4: Heavy rainfall continued to lash Mumbai on Wednesday, causing waterlogging and flooding of tracks at several railway stations across the city. Mumbai is being battered by the monsoon rains, and water-logging has been reported from various places. Mumbai’s lifeline, the Local trains, have also been hit as tracks have submerged in water. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an Orange alert in view of the unrelenting rains in Mumbai on Wednesday. Tide-Forecast announced the hightide timings in Mumbai for today, Wednesday. The heavy downpour resulted in flood-like situations in several areas of the city, leading to traffic congestion on roads. According to details on Tide Forcast's website, high tides of about 4.18 metres (13.71ft) expected in Mumbai at around 3.17 pm on September 4. High tides occur due to the gravitational pull between the earth and the moon. The police have told people going near the sea or those venturing near Marine Drive- Queen's Necklace to stay away from the sea. According to IMD, clouds have been observed over north Maharashtra coast including Mumbai. In the wake of the heavy rainfall in the city, the state government has declared a holiday for schools and colleges.
