Mumbai, July 4: Mumbai limped back to normalcy on Thursday with public transport resuming services. Incessant rain in the city subsided after making a record rainfall for July on Tuesday.  The Disaster Management Unit (DMU) in its weather bulletin on Thursday said the city would witness moderate rains during the day and will witness a high tide at 1. 20 PM on Thursday and a low tide at 7.21 PM on the same day.  Locals have been warned not to venture anywhere close to the beaches during the high tide timings. High Tide Alert Dates in Mumbai 2019: Calendar of High And Low Tides During This Monsoon.

According to details on Tide Forcast's website, Mumbai is set to witness three tides on Thursday, one of which is a high tide and the rest two are low tides. A high tide of 4.87m (15.98ft) is set to hit Mumbai at 1.17 PM on Thursday, July 4. Meanwhile, the two low tides-one of 0.16m (0.52ft) and the other of 1.37m (4.49ft) will hit the city at 6:27 AM and 7:24 PM respectively. On Tuesday, Mumbai received 375.2 mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period which is the highest since the July 26, 2005, deluge in Mumbai. The heavy downpour lashed Mumbai in the last three days, leading to heavy traffic jams, water logging and cancellation of buses, flights and local trains.

Private weather agency Skymet Weather, Mumbai is at "serious risk of flooding" between July 3 and 5. "Close to 200 mm or more rain per day is likely during this period, which could hamper normal life," it said.
