Mumbai, August 12: A high tide measuring 4.95 metres is set to hit the Mumbai shore today, August 12. The high tide is expected to hit shore at 12:41 pm this noon. The Disaster Management wing of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a warning for fishermen not to venture into the sea around that time.

The body has also issued helpline numbers - 1916 or 101 in case of emergency. They have appealed to people to contact the lifeguards deployed at several beaches in case any help is needed. (Also Read: High Tide Alert Dates In Mumbai). Read the tweet by BMC below:

The BMC disaster control management in June had issued an advisory saying that this monsoon, there will be 24 high-tide days when the sea level will be above 4.6m in Mumbai. Mumbai had seen heavy rains in the month of July, with reports of waterlogging from several parts of the city. However, the city has been relatively dry in August, with only modest bouts of rainfall in the city.
