Mumbai, June 29: The Monsoon showers have made their way to Mumbai and the city is witnessing heavy rains for the second consecutive day on Saturday. The heavy rains in Mumbai proved disastrous despite the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), MMRDA, and Railway claiming that they have prepared for the monsoon. Many parts of the city were waterlogged, including King’s Circle, Hindmata Junction, and Gandhi Market in Sion. The waterlogging was also reported in Saki Naka, Andheri Metro station, Milan subway, Powai, Marol, Khar masjid, and WEH Metro station. High Tide Alert Dates in Mumbai 2019:
The BMC disaster control management has issued an advisory saying that monsoon 2019, there will be 23 high-tide days when the sea level will be above 4.6m in Mumbai city. According to the BMC, the months of June, July, August and September will witness the high tide. Municipal Corporation will be circulating the high-tide list to other agencies like the traffic police and fire brigade to ensure monsoon preparedness.
