Kerala, February 3: Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today at Dubai Expo 2020 for the inauguration of the 'Kerala Week' in the EXPO 2020's Indian Pavilion. Sheikh Mohammed praised the contributions of the Indian expatriate community to the UAE's development and highlighted the growing investments the two countries are making in each other's economies. In a tweet along with a photo with Kerala CM, Dubai ruler tweeted in Malayalam that "Keralites are playing an important role in the economic and developmental development of Dubai and the UAE."

Meanwhile, Kerala CM Pinarai Vijayan also thanked Al Maktoum for the support given by the UAE in the development of the state. He also urged the UAE PM to take the initiative for more investment in Kerala. During the discussion between Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Abu Dhabi chamber chairman Abdulla Mohamed Almazuri, the Kerala CM, in a welcoming step, called on to the Abu Dhabi chamber to form a delegation and visit Kerala as part of further strengthening the cooperation in commerce and industries.

Reportedly, United Arab Emirates houses 2.75 million Indians, out of which, more than 750,000 are Keralites. CM Vijayan said that Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber assured wholehearted support for the visit.
