High Alert in Rajasthan, Gujarat And Madhya Pradesh After Terror Threat, Security Enhanced Over Suspected Presence of Afghan Terrorists

A high alert has been sounded across Rajasthan after the state police received intelligence inputs that four Afghan terrorists have infiltrated into India along with an agent of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI.

Jaipur, August 22: A high alert has been sounded across Rajasthan after the state police received intelligence inputs that four Afghan terrorists have infiltrated into India along with an agent of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. According to the tip, the five are in the country to possibly carry out attacks. Following the terror threat, security has been enhanced across the state. The police have also released sketches of all the terrorists.

"There is a terrorist threat, in Sirohi and in areas in Rajasthan. That's why security has been put in place," Jaisalmer Inspector Kishan Singh told news agency ANI. According to Sirohi Superintendent of Police Kalyanmal Meena, all police officers in the district have been ordered to stay vigilant in view of the terror threat. All district superintendents of police in the state have been asked to remain fully alert. Communal Clashes in Jaipur: Section 144 Imposed Till Tomorrow as Tension Grips Pink City.

Law enforcement agencies are on their toes in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh as well. The Gujarat Police have been conducting extensive checking at all inter-state border checkpoints. Apart from this, the movement of suspicious vehicles is also being monitored. In Madhya Pradesh, a high alert has been sounded in districts bordering Rajasthan and Gujarat and enhanced checking of vehicles is being conducted at inter-state checkpoints.

Precautions are also being taken in the bordering districts of Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch and Agar-Malwa. According to reports, intelligence inputs say out of the four Afghan-origin terrorists who plan on carrying out attacks in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states, one possibly hails from Kunar province of the terror-torn Afghanistan.
