Heavy Rains in Uttar Pradesh: 58 People Die, CM Yogi Adityanath Ensures Proper Treatment of People Affected
A total of 58 people have died in 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh due to heavy rainfall and lightning between July 26 and 28. Maximum casualties occurred in Saharanpur as 11 people died.
Lucknow, July 28: A total of 58 people have died in 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh due to heavy rainfall and lightning between July 26 and 28. Maximum casualties occurred in Saharanpur as 11 people died in the district. Fifty-three people also have been reported injured due to heavy rains. According to reports, six people died in Agra and Meerut, while four died in Mainpuri.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed senior officials of all the districts to take preventive measures so that people should not face any inconvenience due to heavy rains. The state government has also issued directives to provide monetary support to the people are badly hit by the rains. Directions were also issued for taking all necessary steps to ensure proper treatment of the injured as the chief minister warned officials that no laxity will be tolerated in relief works.
Heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds also hit Delhi, and surrounding areas which resulted in waterlogging and traffic snarls at various places. For July 28, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains over west Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh and Bihar.
