Mumbai, April 27: Heatwave conditions in Maharashtra continued to intensify. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai on Saturday issued a fresh warning of heatwave conditions likely in isolated pockets of Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Jalgaon, Solapur and Sangli districts over the next couple of days. Earlier on Wednesday, i.e. April 24, Akola and Bramhapuri in Vidarbha of Maharashtra recorded 45.1 degrees Celsius. That day, temperatures recorded in most parts of the state were above normal by three degrees to five degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, According to the IMD, Pune, These areas will continue to experience very hot conditions and will face a severe heatwave till April 30. “As there is little moisture available, it is preventing any cloud cover formation, which could otherwise bring some respite from this scorching heat,” reported The Indian Express quoting Anupam Kashyapi of the IMD, Pune.
However, there is a possibility cyclonic storm developing over the Bay of Bengal, which will approach towards Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coasts around April 30. Due to this phenomenon, heavy rains could hit the east coast along Tamil Nadu.
