Nainital, June 18: In a heartbreaking turn of events, what was meant to be a joyous occasion at a wedding celebration in Nainital ended in tragedy when the bride collapsed while dancing at her mehndi ceremony on Saturday, June 15. Despite immediate medical attention, the 28-year-old bride could not be revived and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Initial reports indicate that she might have succumbed to a suspected heart attack.

According to a Times of India report, the deceased, identified as Shreya Jain, was a resident of Delhi who had arrived at the luxurious Parichay Resort in Nakuchiyatal for her Destination wedding. Shreya, who had recently completed her MBA after BTech, had eagerly anticipated her wedding. The wedding ceremony was scheduled for the following day, with the mehndi ceremony serving as a prelude to the joyful occasion. Tragically, during the evening's celebrations, Shreya collapsed suddenly, prompting swift medical intervention by local doctors at the Bhimtal community health centre. “Doctors at the Bhimtal Community Health Centre indicated cardiopulmonary complications as the likely cause of death,” Inspector Negi confirmed. He further mentioned that the Jain family, devastated by the sudden loss, opted for a quiet cremation in Kathgodam, requesting no further legal proceedings.  Following the family’s request, no formal investigation was pursued, and Shreya’s final rites were conducted swiftly in Kathgodam before her family returned to Delhi.
