"A girl who has gone to file a report of eve-teasing is being treated in this manner at a police station. On one hand, crimes against women are not going down in Uttar Pradesh, on the other hand, protectors of law are behaving in this manner," Priyanka Gandhi tweeted.

In the clip, the girl was seen narrating the eve-teasing incident that she faced by a group of men. She also said that her brother was beaten for protesting their remarks. In a shocking response, the cop asked the woman about her attire, bangles and necklace. He also pulled up her family.

"Why are you wearing a ring? Why are you wearing a ring and this necklace? Itne item kisliye daale ho (Why wear so many 'items'? You don't study. So much jewellery, why are you wearing it? What's the use of these? This just shows what you really are...," the constable scolded girl.

When the girl's parent tried to intervene, they were also rudely attacked. "Don’t you see what the girl does? You say you work, don’t you ever come back home?” the head constable asked them. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh police said that they are investigating the incident.
