Chandigarh, August 6: In yet another incident of sexual assault, four men allegedly gang-raped a woman in Haryana’s Kaithal district on August 4. Before fleeing from the spot, the accused even tried to hang the victim, but the woman survived. The police have registered an FIR in the case, and the probe is underway.
Astha Modi, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kaithal said, "4 men sexually assaulted a woman and tried to hang her to death and ran away. The woman survived. An FIR has been registered in the incident & further investigation is underway."

In a similar incident, a 22-year-old woman was gang-raped for four days by 40 men after she held captive in a guest house in the Morni Hills from July 15 to 18. She has alleged that one of the accused was known to her husband and had promised to give her a job at the guest house. A woman assistant sub-inspector was also suspended for turning away the rape victim when she approached her with a complaint.
In July, Haryana police 60-year-old tantric from Fatehabad’s Toahana town for raping more than 100 women and making video clips of the rape. The baba is identified as Baba Amarpuri, alias Billu. He used the clips to blackmail women.
