Chandigarh, May 19: In a tragic incident, a student in Haryana ended his life after being upset over low score in his Class 12 examinations. Reports inform that an 18-year-old boy from Sonepat had secured 82% marks in Class 12 exams but committed suicide by hanging himself in his room as he thought he could have scored better. According to a report by Hindustan Times, police informed that after the results were announced by the Haryana Board on Wednesday, the boy was really upset with his score and took this extreme step.  RBSE Board Exam 2019: Rajasthan Class 12 Student Commits Suicide After Missing 5 Questions in Physics Paper.

According to a HT report, the Baroda police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar informed that the victim, a resident of Matand village, locked himself in a room and ended his life. The incident came to light when the boy did not open the door and have no response to repeated knocks. Soon after, the family broke open the door and found his body hanging from a ceiling fan.

The boy was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Police said that the boy had scored good marks but still he was depressed as he was expecting to score better.

In another similar incident, a JNU student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in a study room reportedly after being depressed. According to reports, the student, identified as Rishi Joshua, was an MA second year student at the English centre of the university and had e-mailed a suicide note to his English professor before committing suicide.
