Chandigarh, July 31: Haryana Minister of State for Education, Smt. Seema Trikha said that students from government schools are also giving tough competition to others in entrance exams for various courses. She said that parents have certainly played a significant role in increasing enrollment of children in the government school.

Smt. She said that the School Management Committee (SMC) is the key to presenting the true picture of schools. In this sammelan, only 4 districts are remaining, and very positive experiences and suggestions have emerged through SMC. She said that Haryana's teacher transfer policy has become a model for other states. To establish new benchmarks in education, model Sanskriti schools and PM SHRI Schools have been set up on the lines of CBSE. Approximately 25 lakh children are studying in around 14,500 government schools in Haryana, shared Seema Trikha.

The Minister urged the parents to attend parent meetings and provide their suggestions for improvements. These meetings should be held regularly, she said. Smt. Seema Trikha said that the government is working swiftly to recruit chowkidars and cleaning staff in schools. The government is also working towards providing housing facilities for these staff in schools located on one-acre plots. Additionally, there are plans to fill vacant teaching positions. She shared that recently over 7,500 TGT teachers have been given appointment letters. She said that as per Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's appeal, a nationwide ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign is going on in Haryana. Parents should be invited to schools for tree planting, and each tree should be named after a child, said the Minsiter.
